Prof. Piotr Kłodkowski’s Perspective on ‘Allama Iqbal’ at Jashn-e-Rekhta Festival

Here’s a unique chance for intelligentsia, linguists and culturists, in the Capital, to experience a seasoned viewpoint on Allama Iqbal, a noted philosopher and politician of 20th century.
Prof. Piotr Kłodkowski, former diplomat, Indologist and author of many books on Indian culture, will present a talk on “Allama Iqbal – A European Perspective” at the 5th Jashn-e-Rekhta 2018 festival.

Prof. Piotr Kłodkowski is Polish orientalist, journalist, laureate and recipient of the Beaty Pawlak Award (2004) and the Father Józef Tischner Award (2006). In 2009-14 he was the Polish Ambassador to India, also accredited in Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives. During 1983-89 he studied oriental studies at the Jagiellonian University. In the years 1986-89 he studied philosophy at the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Krakow. In 1996 he defended his doctoral thesis in the literary studies Homo mysticus of Hinduism and Islam. Since 2003, he has been an employee of the College of Management and Information Technology in Rzeszow. Since 2007 he was an associate professor at this university; he managed the Institute for Research on Civilizations. After serving in the diplomatic mission to India and other South Asian countries, in 2014 he became the rector of the Higher European School Fr. Józef Tischner in Krakow. Currently, he teaches at the Centre for Comparative Studies of Civilisations, Jagiellonian University, Cracow (Krakow), Poland.
