The play premiered on 9 May 2013 at Malarnia – Teatr Wybrzeże in Gdańsk, Poland. It was produced by Teatr Dada von Bzdülöw / Teatr Wybrzeże and supported by Gdańsk City Council and with special thanks to Studio for Performing Arts – Burdąg and to MCKA Bay of Art Sopot.
The action of “Play it, so 17 dances about something” is taking place in 2044. Janina, Jan and Janka start working on an experimental documentary. In one of the rooms of a well-maintained museum theatre, while making use of some former technologies (MacBookPro, overhead projector, etc.), costumes (Milan Fashion Week, 2013) and emotions (early twenty-first century cinema, dance, theatre), Janina, Jan and Janka try to play out that SOMETHING that was the THING. Philosophical support and inspiration to make a documentary experiment is Wilhelm Guido’s philosophy of Return and Acceptance.
