Photographer Ronny Sen from Kolkata in the art residency in Poland at the Gdańska Galeria Miejska (Gdańsk City Gallery)

Ronny Sen, Indian independent photographer will take part in the art residency at the Gdańska Galeria Miejska (Gdańsk City Gallery) in Poland between 16.02.2015- 02.03.2015.
During the art residency artist will create works inspired by the gallery collection and winter landscape of Poland. He will show his works to the Polish audience during the planned presentation at the gallery. The photographs will be later in the year presented in India.
Ronny Sen is represented by the Art Heritage Gallery in New Delhi. He has been awarded by the Sony World Photography Awards, National Geographic Magazine, United Nations, Powerhouse and The Forward Thinking Museum. He represented India at the World Young Artists Event in Nottingham in the year 2012 following which he was nominated for the Magnum Emergency Fund by the Magnum Photos. He won the Jenysys Creators in 2012, and was invited on an artist residency programme in Japan by The Japan Foundation. He was nominated for the fourth edition of the prestigious Prix Pictet. He made artist book “Khmer Din” which was shown at the Photo Book Fest during the Paris Photo in 2013 and at the National Museum of Singapore. He won the first red frames award and was invited for a master class at the University of California in Berkeley. In 2014, he won the first prize in the general news category at the MFI awards. Recently, he photographed the Indian General elections in 2014 for the United Nations and Fabrica, Italy. His recent project was a jointed together with Natasha Hemrajani exhibition titled “Photo-Poetry: Nicanor Parra, 100 years old anti-poet” presented at the Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi (20th November-31 December 2014).

One of the three main curators of the Gdańska Galeria Miejska/Gdańsk City Gallery, Patrycja Ryłko curated exhibition “we rather look back to futures past” presented 12.06.14 – 7.08.14 at the Mumbai Art Room.
