KINOTEKA in Chennai

in collaboration with the Chennai International Film Festival

5th-12th January 2017
Multiple locations across Chennai

After mesmerizing Mumbai and enthralling New Delhi, KINOTEKA, the 4th Polish Film Festival in India, says Vanakkam to Chennai!

As a part of the Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF), we are bringing you priceless gems of Polish cinema whose legacy has defined the identity and essence of Polish cinematography. Each of these films has been given a new life on screen through the meticulous and sincere digital restoration project Martin Scorsese Presents: Masterpieces of Polish Cinema, headed by the namesake, the legendary Martin Scorsese.

This edition of the festival pays tribute to the Polish cinema legend, Andrzej Wajda who passed away late last year after giving us decades of unforgettable films. Three of them: Ashes and Diamonds/ Popiół i diament, Innocent Sorcerers/ Niewinni czarodzieje and The Promised Land/ Ziemia Obiecana will be screened during the festival along with Krzysztof Zanussi’s Illumination/ Iluminacja and Jerzy Kawalerowicz’s Night Train/ Pociąg and Pharaoh/ Faraon.

If you love films, then Chennai is the place to be this January!
