European Higher Education Fair 2014

Polish Technology Universities from Wroclaw and Poznan and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun together with Radom Academy of Economics at the
EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION FAIR 2014

The European Higher Education Fair India 2014 will promote a European identity and European Higher Education in India by providing a platform for European Union Member States and Higher Education Institutions to showcase their education opportunities and facilities.
Europe has always been one of the leading study and research destinations for international students, offering both cutting-edge education and value for money. European Higher Education Institutions offer high academic standards, a great variety of international degree programs, advanced research facilities and a rich tapestry of diverse cultures, languages and societies. These attractions pull hundreds of thousands of foreign students to Europe each year for higher education and research. The aims of the Fair are to give Indian students and parents the opportunity to collect valuable information and practical insights about the broad range of study opportunities and resulting career prospects available in Europe; as well as provide European higher education institutions an opportunity to connect with Indian students and the academic community and foster institutional contacts and networks in India.
Poland is one of the 23 countries participating in the Fair. Polish Higher Education Institutions offer more than 400 courses (B.A, M.A.) in English, costs of living are also cheaper other European countries. Poland is well connected by airline connections with India as it lays in the heart of Europe. The Universities are modern and well equipped. Indian students will have the opportunity to meet and interact with representatives of four Polish higher education institutions including the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the Radom Academy of Economics, the Poznan University of Technology, and the Wrocław University of Technology. The Polish stand at the Fair will include information on higher education opportunities at these universities, among others, and offer insights into studying, working, and living in Poland. Polish Institute in New Delhi is coordinating the presentation of the Polish Universities at the EU Higher Education fair.

POLISH UNIVERSITIES REPRESENTED AT THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION FAIR 2014
• UNIWERSYTET MIKOŁAJA KOPERNIKA W TORUNIU/ NICOLAUS COPERNICUS UNIVERSITY IN TORUŃ
The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (NCU) was founded in 1945. It is one of the largest universities in Poland, currently comprising 17 faculties. It provides graduate and postgraduate courses for almost 30000 students, offering education in over 80 fields of study, 100 specialisations and 50 postgraduate courses. The university employs 4300 staff on both Toruń and Bydgoszcz campuses, over half of whom are academic teachers. NCU alumni now number nearly 200 000.The university participates in student and staff exchange programs at both international (the Erasmus program) and national (the MOST program) levels. It develops studies in cooperation with universities abroad and is currently collaborating with the universities in Angers (economics) and Moscow (history).The University Library holds an imposing collection of nearly 3 million printed volumes, periodicals and special collection items. This has contributed to the Nicolaus Copernicus University’s position as one of the five best universities in Poland and it is also the reason why QS World University Ranking has placed NCU in the top 4% of universities in the world

• WYZSZA SZKOLA HANDLOWA W RADOMIU/ RADOM ACADEMY OF ECONOMICS

The campus of Radom Academy of Economics is the largest and best equipped teaching base
among all the private universities in the region of Radom. The modern two-storey library and reading
room meet the highest academic standards. Every student will find the handbooks and materials they need for writing their research papers or theses. There are over 14500 volumes in the library. The Academy collects and provides students with the professional press, including about 70 periodicals in Polish, English, Russian, French and German. There are also internet news magazines, also in
foreign editions, available to students. Radom Academy of Economics has its own publishing house, which deals with the publication of manuals and scripts. Lecturers, students
and researchers from leading academic centres in the country are the authors of the university’s
publications. Only Radom Academy of Economics, as the school of higher education in Radom, offers an integrated communication system, which consists in the fact that each of our students receives all up-to-date general and individual information. Radom Academy of Economics in Radom has been positively assessed as the only university in Radom by the Polish Accreditation Committee with respect to all majors under control, and has also received a prestigious quality badge and a certificate “Credible School” awarded by the Polish Academic Information Centre.
Radom Academy of Economics presently cooperates with 170 partner universities located in
22 European countries. The university provides all foreign students with the opportunity to study for one or two semesters under the Erasmus programme.

Radom Academy of Economics has run the International Programme since 2007. The programme and the interdisciplinary English path which was created within it enable the students from the partner universities to study at RAE for one or two terms.

Poznan University of Technology (PUT) grew out of the State School of Mechanical Engineering which was established in 1919. Currently with its about 21 thousand students and more than 11 hundred academic staff, is one of the leading technical universities in Poland. It has become one of the most recognized landmarks of the Wielkopolska region, where industry is perfectly combined with education and culture. Wrocław University of Technology is a public institution which was founded in 1945, nevertheless, its academic legacy dates back over 160 years to the Lviv University. Its position in the research and teaching fields places the university among the three best universities of technology in Poland. The educational standards offered at the university are closely connected with its dynamic scientific work and industrial experience. The university currently offers preparatory language courses as well as Bachelor Master and PhD degree programmes at 12 faculties, some of them in in double degree version with universities in Germany, UK and Canada. Currently 859 international students study at Wrocław Univeristy of Technology among them 38 Indian students.
